The Pain of Starting

Every morning starts the same as a Solo-preneur, with heavy doses of youthful enthusiasm and self doubt. I am heading into my sixth month of business development and slowly seeing my idea's turn into reality. But the scary fact is still so present, there is no one but ME to blame if this "business" fails. The funny thing about it is, I wouldn't have it any other way. I learned at an early age to take ownership of my decisions and always face consequences if those decisions lead to trouble. These lessons have served me well in my professional life. The pains of starting two separate companies before the age of 30 have been bearable due to lessons I have learned along the way.

   Another lesson that I have related to business is a little Nike-ish and it goes like this, "just do it". There are so many hurdles we must jump in life, or should I say, hurdles we must jump "if" we want to accomplish. I was blessed to have family that motivated me to "do" and not just talk about doing. This is a hurdle that keeps so many from taking that leap and let's make it clear, leaping is a must as an entrepreneur. What I have learned about entrepreneurship is this, starting is painful and scary, but what scares me more is putting my fate in someone else's hands...
